Making the same old snack every day can get boring, and that’s what we love about these delicious kid-friendly desserts. They are anything but dull, and it doesn’t matter how old you are, it’s next to impossible to resist them. They are just as adorable as they are flavorful too. Plus, they are fun, easy, and can be allergy-friendly kid snacks as long as your child can eat chocolate.

Let’s get started so you can make these adorable chocolate kid’s treats right away.

Should strawberries be cold before dipping in chocolate?

When you start dipping the strawberries, it’s going to give you a much better result if they are room temperature. When I know I am going to make chocolate-dipped strawberries, I typically set them out for 1 hour before beginning.

Can I Use Sugar-Free Chocolate

Of course! Simply use any chocolate with sugar or without to make these chocolate covered strawberries. You can use any sort of melting chocolate in a variety of colors as well. They can be transformed to match whatever theme you are going with by switching out the chocolate.

How do you keep chocolate-covered strawberries from leaking?

Chocolate covered strawberries do tend to sweat or leak liquid out of them. The easiest way to avoid this is to eat or serve them on the day they have been prepared. They can sit at room temperature until you are ready to serve, and this will help prevent any leaking from occurring. If you can’t eat them the same day, that’s not a problem, but there won’t be much you can do about the sweating that occurs. Don’t worry, they still taste great!

Can chocolate-covered strawberries be made ahead of time?

Yes, you can make them ahead of time. They will actually last 3-4 days in the fridge, but you will notice some seepage of the strawberry juice as they sit. It’s still safe to eat them; they just may not be as pretty as day one.

How long does it take chocolate-covered strawberries to harden?

They typically harden within 30 minutes to an hour. Once they have hardened, you are able to devour every heavenly bite of the chocolate covered strawberries.

What Candies To Use For Bird Eyes And Mouth

I used small yellow heart-shaped candies for the mouth. They are fairly easy to find online and make the perfect little birdie mouths. You can actually buy small candy eye shapes from any of your local cake decorating shops or online. Just get the small ones, so they fit properly and don’t look out of place.

Best Way To Store

Store the chocolate-covered strawberries on the counter for up to 10 hours, or in the fridge for up to four days. They do need to be kept in an airtight container for best results.

Can You Freeze

Yes, you can freeze these chocolate-dipped strawberries. Simply lay them out on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet so that they aren’t touching. Then place the pan in the freezer for a couple of hours. Once they have frozen, you can remove them from the baking sheet and put them in a freezer bag or container. They will last around 2 months in the freezer. Thaw before eating or enjoy a frozen kid-friendly treat.
