Is 15 Pro Max worth it? ›

Lots of smaller improvements add up to create an excellent phone. Apple's new iPhone Pro models have been improved across the board. They're better in almost every way, and the new USB-C port is a very welcome addition.

The most important decision point when choosing between the ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ and ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ Max is undoubtedly screen size, but comfort, pocketability, weight, battery life, and camera technology are also important considerations that will depend based on your personal needs and preferences.

The iPhone 15 has a 48-megapixel main camera. The standard iPhone is finally getting a bump in camera resolution. While the last several generations of the regular iPhone have had a 12-megapixel camera system, the iPhone 15 has a new 48-megapixel sensor that snaps 24-megapixel photos by default.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max comes with a new contoured titanium frame, a USB Type-C port at the bottom, a camera with 5.0x optical zoom, a customizable Action Button, as well as the 3nm Apple A17 Pro chipset.

So, for example, Apple's new iPhone 15 is rated IP68, with Apple adding it's waterproof to a maximum depth of six meters for up to 30 minutes.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max is a major upgrade over the iPhone 14 Pro Max for two reasons: It's 20 grams lighter and it has a 6X telephoto camera. You'll also get a faster chip, refined titanium design, faster data transfers with USB-C, and an Action button for quickly launching the camera and other app actions.

The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are both incredibly good phones, but the real thing it comes down to is how much you are staring at your phone. If you are a power user who wants the most out of your device, then the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the one to go for.

You want a longer-lasting battery

Naturally, the iPhone 14 Pro Max's battery will last much longer than the smaller variant. Apple says the Max can handle up to 29 hours of video playback (versus the 14 Pro's 23) and we expect real-world testing numbers to be just as promising.

The iPhone 15 is a surprisingly big upgrade — and the best option for most. The iPhone 15 doesn't immediately seem like a huge leap from last year's model, and in many ways, it's not.

The iPhone 15 Pro (6.1 inches) and iPhone 15 Pro Max (6.7 inches) start at $999 and $1,199. While last year's iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models both started with 128GB of storage, the 15 Pro Max starts with 256GB, raising the pricing floor by $100.

Besides the new display technology, here's what to expect with the iPhone 15: As I wrote in January, the pro models will get a new design, replacing the shiny and fingerprint-prone stainless-steel edges with something stronger, lighter and more premium: titanium.

Rather than increasing screen size, Apple has used the opportunity to trim down the device's footprint by a few fractions of an inch. The 15 Pro Max measures in at 6.29 x 3.02 x 0.32 inches to the 14 Pro Max's 6.33 x 3.05 x 0.31.

Spoiler alert! The it might look like it is a very similar phone, but the iPhone 15 is better almost everywhere across the board, from its highly improved camera system to its faster and more power-efficient chipset, and more.

Both the 5G phones are good, but I would recommend you buy the new iPhone 15 for obvious reasons. The latest version comes with a better 48-megapixel dual rear camera system, and people now also get the Dynamic Island feature for alerts and live activities, which was limited to iPhone 14 Pro variants last year.

Like the cameras, the performance of the iPhone 15 should also be a lot better than the iPhone 14. Apple includes its A16 Bionic processor in its latest phone, which gives you faster everyday performance, better graphics performance while gaming and improved efficiency.
